What a fabulous, #RockHot guest we have today by name of John Nemo. He’s an incredible subject matter expert on, well you read the headline, right? LINKEDIN. John Nemo is author of five books and a former Associated Press reporter who has written for 150 publications throughout his esteemed career. The tips John shares are so easy to remember because he and John Gregory Olson act like they’re at a hootenanny! It’s a good time, and I am so relieved I didn’t interview John Nemo because I think we would have been in competition for the laugh track.
John Gregory Olson asks some direct and good questions (according to the other John), and what you hear is John’s (the other John) expertise about using LinkedIn for connections, business development and earning the sale.
I’m only going to give you one solid tip — wait you DID read the headline, right?
LinkedIn Is Not Your Resume
LinkedIn is NOT your resume. Perhaps it used to be early on, but no longer. We need to regard LinkedIn as the business development arena that it can be, and it all depends on how you network — with value. Another tip from John Nemo is people should not expect they have the right to intrude on LinkedIn until they earn it. Building relationships are part of the original culture of social media, and John Nemo does this extremely well.
LinkedIn is growing daily with 400 million members from nearly every country in the world. With its purchase of Lynda.com, the platform is seeking to be the number-one resource for companies and those seeking to use it for how-to, business development, networking, recruiting, and more.
We love John Nemo, and you can network more with John on LinkedIn, of course. Don’t forget to check out his book(s), too, and his course on using LinkedIn as a strategy, and his podcast “LinkedIn Riches.”
