There’s no greater accomplishment than turning 50, and in this case it’s not 50-years-old, but 50 episodes young! We’re wishing ourselves a very happy 50th episode birthday on this nascent podcast. Most of all, we could NOT celebrate without YOU.
John Gregory Olson and I are newbies and yet we’ve grown into a comfortable existence with tons of banter, teasing, guffaws, and so much marketing expertise for our mid-tier audience and others who want to listen.
The Heart of Marketing was launched Feb. 1, 2015, and we have consistently posted an episode once weekly since then.
Happy 50th Episode Birthday
This episode is nothing but fun, and we reminisce to John’s amazing talents as a sound-bite-artist-on-the-fly. No, seriously, John is all that — a King of Kings in the spot-on sound bite world. He always surprises me, except when I try to surprise him with instant demand for a soundbite and I fall flat on my face! Listen for a true ‘kissie’ sound bite and see if John plays along with me!
On that note, John embarrasses me with a clip from Episode 000 when I was, well, confused. It’s hilarious.
We wonder why Episode 021 is our most popular about ‘Generalists vs. Specialists,‘ and we continue to ask our listeners to tell us. Maybe our wonderment keeps this episode the highest because we keep wondering! If you wouldn’t mind listening and letting us know, that would be helpful and maybe we can repeat its popularity, too.
I really like the episode with IKEA when about the new rules of media relations oriented to veggie balls! I wrote a blog post about this story, and it’s available in the show notes. Often, we’ll get inspired by a blog post one of us writes and it becomes a podcast; kinda like when a book becomes a movie, eh? (Speaking of which, who wants to write a movie script with me? I digress.)
Probably the most epic hilarity comes from our episode on Chinese caskets, and John found the clip especially for this episode.
On a final note, where would a podcast be without some bathroom humor? Seriously, we don’t make a habit of it, but dang, it’s funny, but it doesn’t take much to make me laugh.[powerpress]
