Meet Jayme Soulati
I am Jayme Soulati, and I love public relations. I also love the journey we’re on with The Heart Of Marketing podcast. There’s no way I could go it alone, and that’s why I’m so happy to have John Gregory Olson as my co-host who shares knowledge, banter and puts up with my giggles in every episode. We chit chat about digital marketing and all its glorious disruption. We share stories of what we’ve learned from client experiences, and we always add our insights at the end. I am a teacher by heart, and from my 30+ years in Chicago agencies (now living elsewhere), my work resides under the banner of Soulati Media, Inc. where I deliver a plethora of client service. I’m so pleased you’re here listening, learning, and hopefully laughing alongside John and I as we forage for topics, share opinions, and then decipher the heart of the matter for you.
As we grow, there is so much more in store, for John and I have a grand plan. We hope you’ll stick along for the ride! Please follow us and join the HOM Team for so much more to come.
Meet John Gregory Olson
I have 25 years of experience growing business revenue and share of customer from both sides of the desk, as a corporate marketer and a consultant. I have done this for small, medium and large organizations primarily in the B2B sector.
Since 2004 I have experienced no fewer than four down-sizing reorganizations where I was left standing without a chair when the music stopped. I know first-hand that companies going through headcount reductions still need help developing and implementing marketing strategy.
During these transitions, I did strategy consulting, contract work and freelance writing. I also used the time to blog and explore social media and digital marketing. In addition to writing original posts on content and social media strategy, I also publish a weekly digest of digital marketing news and trends. This is experience I never would have gained in a comfortable corporate marketing role.
No, I’m not a rock star, ninja or guru. But I am a guy fascinated with learning and testing new ways to reach customers and making the sales needle move.
Along the way, I realized something else.
All of my experience to date in publishing, direct response marketing, content planning and creation, and marketing on the Web has prepared me for a time such as this. I’ve always been a content marketer. Now there is a name for it. Content marketing is much more than a new buzzword. It is the way businesses will have to reach customers in a digital world.
