This is Jayme Soulati, and I’m so jazzed to bring CEO Hessie Jones to our show today. She leads a Toronto firm called ArCompany that is trying to bridge the generation gap with social listening and analytics. Today on The Heart of Marketing, Hessie tells about her recent book, ‘Evolve, Marketing (as we know it) is Doomed, which she wrote with Daniel J. Newman. Just to let you know, the very first question I ask her is whether marketers are liars.
It’s an intriguing question with an even-more intriguing answer.
Throughout the discussion, Hessie shares her keen insights from her breadth of experience in the corporate world circling around data analytics and marketing. She assures me that authenticity and genuine integrity will win out over the intense race for the almighty dollar, and Hessie also shares good examples from two companies doing integrated marketing extremely well. I get to ask Hessie about the pulse of where we are going, and there’s so much food for thought to affirm, contradict and consider about what’s actually happening in marketing today.
What’s neat is that I got an opportunity to jump into Hessie’s ‘plethora’ of experience and draw out her knowledge to share with Heart Marketers. Her food for thought on how marketers should work with clients and earn their keep is helpful as we look toward the future and evolution of marketing from its current state of disruption. Listen to the end in the Heart of the Matter when John Gregory Olson chimes in to add his thoughts, too.
